A proposal is written to propose a plan or suggestion of an idea, projects or products to the prospective clients. There are two types of proposal namely solicited proposal and unsolicited proposal. Solicited proposal is written as request by the client or customer or issue a written request for proposal while unsolicited proposal is submitting a proposal haven’t them asked for you just think that they need to take your suggestion or plan for their benefits.

Writing a proposal do not have specific format unless a request for proposal requires a format. However, proposal should be written in simple form, provides visual aids such as tables, graphs and charts, and easy to read.
Effective proposal should focus on client’s needs. Your product or idea should provide information on how these will help to your prospective clients. Make sure that your proposal will achieve the goals of your client. It should be simple and short but with complete information.

Common mistakes of a proposal are not providing a clear and persuasive document so therefore the proposal has little impact to the client or audience. It is the best to spent time for understanding client’s needs.

Preparing a business proposal is a lot of work because it requires a planning, researching, analyzing, and answering fundamental questions related to past, present and future of a new business solution.

The first part of your proposal includes the background such as the problem and difficulties of the company. The last part will include the future which includes the long term benefits such as the changes and impact for their organization.
